BIO - GUY OFFERMAN
Guy Offerman(1972) born in Haarlem (The Netherlands), and raised in various countries around the World.
He studied at the Academy of Photography in Haarlem. (1994-1998)
His photography is not easily defined in to specific categories. The editorial, commercial and portrait photography he does often overflows and intertwines into each other. With most of the time “People” being the strong connecting ingredient.
Two of his great passions in life are travel and photography. He believes that experiencing other cultures, meeting people from other countries and seeing the beauty, and sometimes ugliness of the world, broadens one's view of the world.
Through his photography he seeks to document his own personal experiences, to capture scenes and events and then to share with others the world he’s seen.
Most of his images are grounded in people. Looking for the unguarded moment, the essential soul peeking out.
He views the art of photography as a creative process, capture reality into a personal vision.
Pictures are a great way to document things, and enable other people to see things they might not otherwise be able to see.
Due to contact with other cultures early in life and images of other photographers have inspired him to explore the world.
